Add a Setup Fee in Agency Handy

What is a Setup Fee?

A setup fee is a one-time or recurring charge added to the start of a subscription. Use it when services need onboarding, configuration, or initial setup time.


Why use it?

  • Extra Revenue – Add a one-time or recurring fee on top of your subscriptions

  • Custom Billing – Choose how long to charge the setup fee

  • Clear Pricing – Setup fee is shown separately during checkout and in invoices


How to Add a Setup Fee

1. Go to Your Services

  • Log in to Agency Handy

  • Head to the Services tab

  • Create or edit a subscription-based service

2. Enable the Setup Fee

  • Scroll to Setup Fee section

  • Toggle Enable Setup Fee

  • Enter the fee amount

  • Choose how many billing cycles it should apply (1 or more)

πŸ’‘ Note: Setup fee duration can’t exceed the subscription's billing cycle.


Good to Know

  • Clients see the setup fee during checkout as a separate line

  • The catalog only shows the subscription price, not the setup fee

  • Invoices list setup fees and subscription fees separately

  • For manual invoices, you'll need to add the setup fee manually

  • Setup fees from proposals apply automatically based on service settings

Subscription: $50/month
​Setup Fee: $30 (1 time)

  • Setup Fee: $30

  • Subscription Fee: $50/month
